Given that mental health problems are predicted by the World Health Organization to become the leading pathology in the morbidity of the population over the next twenty-year period, it has been necessary to initiate the education of the required nursing staff who are involved in managing residential facilities, community nursing teams and so-called \u201ccase management\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, knowledge about the causes and treatment of mental disorders increasingly confirms the necessity of a biopsychosocial approach in the treatment of mental disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Masters of Nursing represent a missing link required for the implementation of mental health system reform. In accordance with the principles of the Bologna Declaration, the proposed study programme is structured and evaluated with 120 ECTS credits and lasts two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the first year, four modules are delivered: general compulsory courses, scientific research methods, a psychological\u2013pedagogical module, and a module comprising 9 elective courses from which the student must select three.
In the second year of study, 5 compulsory courses related to mental health are offered, as well as 31 elective courses from which the student selects six.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Graduate Study Programme in Nursing would significantly contribute to better education of bachelors of nursing and assist them in mastering the numerous innovations within the profession, enabling them to think critically and adopt new technical and scientific achievements in this rapidly developing field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The modern way of life and work imposes increasing demands, the consequence of which is a disturbance of the balance between health and disease, and the application of appropriate methods is essential for successful treatment, overall improvement of health, reduction of sick leave duration and extension of working capacity, positively affecting quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The study programme concludes with the defence of a master\u2019s thesis.<\/p>\n\n\n
