Research and Projects

The Faculty of Health Studies of the University of Rijeka (FHSRI), since its establishment in 2014, has been developing scientific research activities in parallel with the development of study programmes. The scientific mission of the Faculty of Health Studies is, based on the results of competitive scientific research, to enable the acquisition of new and relevant knowledge, improve the education of students, future teachers, researchers and professionals, enhance healthcare practice and thereby contribute to the development of the wider social community. A particular mission is to affirm nursing, physiotherapy, radiological technology and midwifery as independent scientific disciplines, and thus the first Croatian midwife with a doctoral degree comes from our Faculty.

The Science Committee of FHSRI encourages the scientific activities of the Faculty’s staff and associates and the involvement of students in the scientific and professional work of the Faculty, promotes scientific and professional activities at the Faculty and thus contributes to the recognition of FHSRI within the academic community and the public. With the aim of increasing the visibility of scientific publications and scientific projects and popularising science, a series of scientific forums was launched in 2022.
