The Student Union of the Faculty of Health Studies is a non-partisan, non-political and representative body of students that protects students’ interests, participates in the governing bodies of the Faculty of Health Studies and is a member of the Student Union of the University of Rijeka.
The Student Union of the Faculty of Health Studies was established on 19 November 2014. The Student Union of the Faculty of Health Studies consists of twelve members with voting rights and two members without voting rights.
Members with voting rights are representatives and deputy representatives of students of the following study programmes: university graduate study programmes of the Faculty of Health Studies, physiotherapy, medical laboratory diagnostics, midwifery, radiological technology, nursing. Members without voting rights are: the student ombudsperson of the Faculty of Health Studies and the representative of professional undergraduate study programmes in the Student Union of the University of Rijeka.
Members of the Student Union of the Faculty of Health Studies are elected in student elections held every two years.
Kruno Topolski, a third-year student of the professional undergraduate study programme in Physiotherapy, was elected as the first president of the Student Union of the Faculty of Health Studies.
Tasks of the Student Union of the Faculty of Health Studies
- elects student representatives to the Faculty Council and participates in its work and decision-making,
- elects student representatives to relevant organisations, institutions and companies founded by the Faculty of Health Studies,
- adopts the work plan and programme of the Student Union,
- announces the Call for Funding of Student Programmes,
- adopts the Student Union Budget based on the Call,
- appoints the student ombudsperson in the manner determined by this Statute,
- takes care of the quality of student life, especially the quality of the study process, student standard, the exercise of student rights and other important issues for students of the Faculty of Health Studies,
- proposes, through the Committee for Project Evaluation and Finance of the Faculty of Health Studies, a plan for financing student activities,
- encourages extracurricular activities of students of the Faculty of Health Studies,
- proposes the Statute of the Student Union of the Faculty of Health Studies,
- performs other tasks of interest to students of the Faculty of Health Studies.
Student Ombudsperson
Dear students,
By decision of the Assembly of the Student Union of the Faculty of Health Studies of the University of Rijeka, I have been appointed Student Ombudsperson of the Faculty of Health Studies. My duty is to advocate for student rights and to advise students on the exercise of those rights.
If you have any uncertainties regarding your rights, I kindly ask you to contact me by email with your inquiry. I hope you will not encounter difficulties during your studies at our Faculty; however, should any arise, I will endeavour to assist you in resolving them in cooperation with the competent bodies of the Faculty.
